German prosecutors accuse a man of transporting weaponry to Vienna and recording a masked, armed video in front of a Hamas flag to facilitate strikes against Jews and Israelis in Europe. The suspect, identified in foreign reports as Mohammed Naim, is the son of senior Hamas official Bassem Naim and a former bodyguard for the late Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh. He allegedly targeted the strikes to coincide with the second anniversary of the October 7 massacre, according to prosecution documents.

Naim currently faces separate criminal proceedings in the United Kingdom, where a court has restricted the publication of his identity, prohibiting local outlets such as The Times from naming him. He previously worked in IT and obtained asylum and citizenship in Britain after Egyptian authorities detained him for smuggling goods into Gaza through tunnels. Israeli intelligence reports that Naim met with his father in Qatar several weeks before his arrest.
