Pakistani police placed Aleema Khan, sister of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, under 30 day public order detention after arresting her in Lahore. Security forces expanded raids to other family members, including Dr. Uzma Khan and several children, transporting them in armored vehicles from homes where streets were cordoned off. Four Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf workers were also detained in Islamabad on the same day.

The detentions come one week before the PTI scheduled march to Islamabad on September 27 to demand the release of Imran Khan, who has been imprisoned since 2023. A family lawyer claimed the state is attempting to freeze the family's movements to prevent them from joining the planned mobilization in the capital.
