Troy Jackson Leads Susan Collins in Maine Senate Poll
🇺🇸 US Politics Sep 24, 3:58 PM EDT 20/5
A University of New Hampshire survey of likely voters reveals a shift in voter preferences for the upcoming US Senate contest in Maine. The poll, conducted from Sept. 17 to Sept. 21, shows Democratic candidate Troy Jackson holding 51% of the support compared to 47% for Republican incumbent Susan Collins, marking a reversal from a Sept. 15-22 NYT/Siena poll that placed Collins ahead 49% to 46%.
Collins is a five term incumbent and the only Republican senator representing a state not won by Donald Trump in any of his three presidential campaigns. Jackson was nominated by the Democratic Party via convention following a scandal involving the previous nominee, Graham Platner; Maine has not elected a Democratic senator since 1988.
