A tanker in the port of Izmail and a ferry at Chornomorsk were hit by Russian forces on Sept. 15. The Russian Defence Ministry claimed both vessels were delivering supplies to Ukraine's military. These strikes focus on disrupting port logistics and transport capabilities in the Black Sea region.

The operation follows drone strikes on Sept. 14 that hit two cargo ships at Odesa Port. On Sept. 13, a Geran-4 jet-drone damaged the Sapphire rescue tugboat at Odesa/Chornomorsk Port, and strikes hit the 330 kV Usatove electrical substation and drone workshops in Chornomorsk. Ukraine's Ministry for Restoration reported no casualties from the tugboat hit and announced a briefing for the International Maritime Organization.
